Save The Coral Reefs With Our New Ocean Conservation Program!

Are you ready to explore the ocean's depths and restore our coral reefs? This World Oceans Day, we are teaming up with Coral Vita to bring you two new limited-edition sneakers that feature stunning designs inspired by beautiful photographs of ocean life!
Our sneaker design is meant to remind us all about the importance and beauty of our oceans – something that must be protected for future generations.

Each limited-edition pair of shoes that is purchased will help restore 10cm² of coral reef off of Coral Vita’s home of Great Bahama island, where coral bleaching, natural disasters, and tourist development have greatly impacted their reefs.
Coral Vita uses a method of land-based aquaculture to create sustainable and adaptable corals that they place in the ocean after a 6-10 month growing season. This growing method makes for a more robust coral that has a better chance of survival in the sea. Their micro-fragmentation method means they can grow the coral up to 50x faster.

Ocean conservation is a vital part of maintaining healthy coral reefs. Coral is an indicator species, an oxygen generator, a coastline protector, and the life force for over 25% of the ocean’s biodiversity (though reefs cover only 1% of the ocean floor).

But this great connector is in extreme danger. Globally, reefs have been decimated to merely 50% of their healthy populations — and, without intervention, over 90% will be gone by 2050.
Our reforestation program has offered us a unique vantage to study the living connection between tropical rainforests and our oceans and coral reefs. Just like trees, coral reefs are the great connector of our oceanic ecosystems. Coral reef restoration impacts the health of oceanic ecosystems and ultimately, our planet.

Coral reef structures buffer shorelines against 97% of the potentially destructive wave energy from storms and floods, helping to prevent loss of life, property damage, and erosion.

When reefs are damaged or destroyed, the absence of this natural barrier can increase the damage to coastal communities from normal wave activity and violent storms alike.

Almost 1 billion people live in coastal areas adjacent to or near coral reefs so protecting coral reefs is vital to their lives. Join us in restoring our coral reefs one pair of shoes at a time!
