Since June 2020, we’ve committed to planting two trees for every pair of sneakers we sell. Our ecological restoration work starts in the Brazilian rainforest, where only 12.4% of the forest floor remains, following widespread urbanization and agricultural logging. This biome is home to over 60% of Brazil’s endangered species.
With the goal of restoring biological diversity, we plant over 120 native tree species. This restorative work allows the forest to grow and flourish over time, by reestablishing the balance that allows natural processes to function as they would without human intervention.
Our local team works closely with SOS Mata Atlantica and CEPAN, organizations that specialize in ecological restoration. By working with organizations with expertise and local roots, we are able to facilitate a collaborative working relationship with indigenous communities.
