Our Upper Materials

The All-Important Outsole
When designing the CATIBA Pro family, we began by finding a perfectly weighted natural rubber. Our raw rubber is ethically harvested through “tapping” the Hevea brasiliensis tree for sap—no trees are harmed in the making of our shoes! We then developed a grippy, herringbone-pattern vulcanized sole with enhanced foxing for added traction and shock protection. Vulcanized soles are lighter than traditional cupsoles, with the added benefit of more boardfeel and flexibility.
